Combating Boredom

Today’s run was good. I ran for 40:00:46. It’s a dumb game but recently (just this past summer) I have been trying to stop my watch before a complete second elapses beyond my goal time. There is absolutely no reason I am trying to do that. None.

I ran from my house and found some new places to run including some Rock Creek Park trails I don’t feel comfortable running on alone before consulting Nanda, my Rock Creek Park expert (the trails are over by her place). I also found the historic C&O canal behind Georgetown’s M Street which leads into the C&O canal most people run and bike on. It was kind of cool to find some new places today since running from my house has recently been driving me crazy. I am beyond bored with the options immediately surrounding where I live (at least the options I can run on alone). As for the actual run, it was 74 degrees and felt really nice. It was humid, but not as bad as later in the day and I don’t think I was going too slowly. Right now it is 92 degrees.

On my way to pick up dinner I dropped a full Nalgene water bottle on my bare foot. It bruised immediately and hurts to touch, but it doesn’t hurt when I walk so I think all is good. I am not worried about it.

Um…nothing much else to report…I am actually pretty bored this week. It kind of scares me how easily I get bored these days. I blame it partially on me being somewhat used to being busy (so when I hit the lull it's worse) but also on not having a television!! (and the DVD playing options that go along with that...) I miss movies!

I'm pretty jealous of the D.C. contingent, how you get to hang out and trade running ideas and all that! However, with you and Becky heading back to Boston, that contingent will soon be just as big as the D.C. one :-)

Oh that's so great that you ran RC and C&O. I miss them!!! Say hi for me please ;) I can just imagine you making sure the clock stops *exactly* at your goal time, very funny!

Isn't that a cute little area on the C&O behind M St? If you haven't been on the Capital Crescent trail, that's really nice too for biking and running. Enjoy!
