Happy Runner
It has been a full day already. I am onto my second job of the day (I think I am finally in the homestretch of a project), I have run about 6 miles, I did my laundry, and I have taken a cat nap. I still have a lot more today (it’s an Alison-esque day where it is me and my laptop all day long) but I have started to check things off of my to-do list. Soon I am allowed to go outside again :)
I woke up at 6:30 AM and was on the road by 7. I ran downhill from my house and did a loop over the Key Bridge, along the Potomac, over Memorial Bridge, along the other side of the Potomac, back into Georgetown, and up the monster hill back to my place. It took 54:45 and I only had to run down my street an extra 15 seconds. I was pretty mystified I got the loop so close to my desired run time. Honestly, I might have run a little less than 6 miles b/c I was just trotting along not too hard, but that’s totally fine with me. That’s the longest I’ve run since March. Nothing hurts. It was humid out, but not too hot. I don’t typically carry water on any runs under an hour 20 or an hour 30 or so and that’s not usually a problem for me, even in the heat. I was fine today too. Along the Potomac I ran past hoards of runners training for the marathon using the Galloway method. I have no idea what mile they were at in their run but I heard watches beep and then people remarking, “Okay, that was definitely the shortest minute of my life!” There are so many people training here it’s a fun environment to be in.
Back to work for me…happy weekend…oh yes, shameless plug:
Check out my brother’s website… http://aworldofhelp.com/ you can ask questions about anything (it’s especially good for IT stuff) and also answer other people’s questions. The more you post (as an asker or answerer) the more points you get. The more points you get the better chance you have to win prizes like Visa gift certificates. PLUS, the website is new so you can get whatever username you want-unlike every other service where I am something like Audre8432 Don’t forget to register before your first post (like I did) so you can get points for your post. Also, check out the fitness forum, as you all will be the most savy in there. There are lots of points to be had for answering those questions. I would suggest you read the information I supplied on calf strains-except you had already had to suffer through my day by day account :)

Congratulations on your good run! I didn't realize that I had trademarked the sitting in front of the laptop for too many hours type of day :-)
Your brother's web site is an interesting idea.
Good luck getting your work done, and I hope you have more good runs to come in the near future!
