*We WON*

We were in the playoffs (seeded last of about 9) and our first game was against the 2nd place team (1st place team had a by). We won the game 3-2 in overtime with a “golden goal” (first team to score ended the game without finishing OT). It was craziness. We heard the other team mumbling and they could not believe we beat them. My team played so well. It was very exciting. We killed 1.5 hours before our next game and then lost approximately 6-1 to an amazing team. Finally, 2 hours later than originally planned, we retired to the bar. Season 2 starts next week and we are dropping down a competitive league.

Four people responded to my e-mail on Friday announcing they wanted to run with me pre-game. At the appointed time it was just…me. As I was about to head out one of them arrived and we ran together at a sane pace. I wore my reflective vest b/c you could easily die on the main road in the ice and dark where we run. We ran for about 15 minutes. Chivalry in a running club apparently manifests itself by letting the girl run on the inside so she has less of a chance of getting hit by a car. I forgive the two non-shows (um, I would regardless) b/c they both raced yesterday morning for our club in a giant relay race and then partook of the post-race festivities for a while. :)

My running club from DC called asking me to volunteer at a race on Saturday. I mean, I’m all for pitching in to help…but I'm just not going to be able to make it down south.

Congrats on the win, Audrey! And I really need to look into getting some reflective clothing for running. The short daylight hours make me nervous about running outside as the roads get slippery.

Woo hoo!! That is awesome that you guys won a playoff game.

I hope your finger's feeling better. It sounds painful.
