Feeling Strong

I think easy mileage last week definitely helped to restore some juice in my legs after feeling consistently sore or tired for the past 2-3 weeks. I can say this now because I've had two good, hard workouts this week. Whoo hoo! Today at track we ran 15 minutes tempo, a 2 minute easy jog, then 12 minutes tempo. I maintained right around a 7 minute pace or just a tad under, which I'm quite happy with since I was shooting for a 7:15ish pace. But I felt smooth, controlled, and that I wasn't working too hard, so I didn't want to force a slower, heavier stride. It was great to see everyone again, since it feels like I hadn't been to track in forever. And it's much, much easier to these tempo or speed workouts with a pace group - both physically and mentally.

Okay, gotta run. Trying to reason with my troublemaker brother; his trial is tomorrow. Let's hope he acts like a grown adult and keeps his temper down.

I agree that taking an easy/down week can make you feel so much stronger and refreshed. Your trip sounds like it was exhausting. Welcome back!!
