Fluffy White Stuff

While my run today wasn't all that great, I took the opportunity to marvel in the beauty that surrounded me. We got a few more inches of snow this afternoon, just enough to coat the trail again and provide a nice running surface that crunched under my shoes. The grass, trees, and lakes were all covered in white and offered a serene and natural background. This was essentially my first snow of the year, since I had been running inside, and I absolutely loved it. The best part was that the it wasn't sticking to the roads, so people weren't turning into crazy drivers. Now, my first "issue" was being overdressed. I wore a tights and a light jacket over a long sleeve shirt. I ended up taking off the jacket, but my legs felt heavy from being so hot. My second "issue" was a tight right calf from running over-consciously flat footed while doding ice the other day, and that's my fault for not stretching and foam rollering as I should have. I'll make sure to visit and revisit that area over the next couple days to make sure it goes away before Freescale.

I still need to go swimming and pack for my weekend warrior job before heading out of town. R. and I never got to swim on Tuesday because right before we arrived, a kid pooped in the pool during swim class. Funny thing was that it was already late, and I was on such a mission to knock this workout out (blinders on), that I would have jumped into the already vacated, poop-infested pool had a gracious lady not told me that it was closed. Yea, how about some situational awareness, eh?

This is a really funny story! So, I've never seen poop in a pool. Can you see it? Does it dissolve in all the chlorine? Float? Sink? I probably would have missed it as well. See, just another reason to avoid public pools anyways... :) Meghan

Just wanted to wish you good luck for your marathon Sunday. I'll be thinking of you! Hope you're over your cough/cold and feeling great. Can't wait to hear all about it. Enjoy!
